Sky Bet League One promotion rivals Bolton Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle will relish a rare Wembley outing in early April, and you can reserve your copy of the EFL’s official matchday programme for the Papa Johns Trophy Final to mark the occasion.
One hundred years on from their first visit to the National Stadium, Wanderers booked their 14th showpiece with Semi-Final success over Accrington Stanley. The Whites, winners of this competition in 1989, will turn out in force on Sunday 2 April for the Club’s first appearance at Wembley since 2011.
It has also been a fairly lengthy wait since the Pilgrims reached such an occasion as well. The Devon side were last under the arch in 2016 and required penalties to see off Cheltenham Town in the last four to reserve only a third trip to Wembley in the club’s 137-year history.
