Pretty Woman being shown on the big screen at Plymouth’s outdoor cinema

The classic film Pretty Woman is coming to Plymouth’s outdoor cinema later this month. Saltram House is set to host the movie starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere as part of Adventure Cinema’s May lineup.

The 1990 picture is just one of three films being shown at the historic grounds near Plympton over the Spring bank holiday weekend, with showings of Top Gun Maverick and Elvis also being shown.

Pretty Woman is the second film over the weekend and will be shown on May 27. Adventure Cinema, encourages those attending to bring blankets, picnics and drinks with them to create a cosy setup to enjoy while the film is on.

Adventure Cinema says there are “limited” tickets available for the May 27 showing. A post on the event page reads: “A fantastic outdoor cinema experience with a showing of the classic Pretty Woman at Saltram House near Plymouth.

“Edward (Richard Gere) is a rich and sophisticated businessman who specializes in corporate raiding. On a business trip to Los Angeles, Edward hires Vivian (Julia Roberts) to be his girlfriend for a week while he traverses the local social circles. Love and various social complications invade their tidy arrangement and have the pair wondering if this Cinderella-story could have a happy ending.

Gates open 8.15pm, film starts shortly after sunset – approx. 9.45pm Plus music to enjoy before the movie with a soundtrack of specially curated songs.

“Bring a blanket or camping chair and watch Pretty Woman on a giant cinema screen under the stars! Picnics and drinks welcome – No glassware.”

The film is rated 15. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. You can find more details about the event here.
