PrettyLittleThing introduces charges for returns

As of 3 June, the online fashion retailer began charging customers for returns. The amount will be subtracted from a customer’s refund or is to be paid directly if customers opt for alternative couriers such as Evri, Royal Mail and Inpost.

It follows retailers such as Zara, which started charging £1.95 for postal returns in May 2022, Boohoo, which introduced a £1.99 fee in July 2022, and New Look, which set a £1.99 return fee in February 2023.

In May, online retailer Oh Polly introduced a new returns policy in a bid to clamp down on “repeat refunders”. It will calculate the cost of returns based on their return rates, which could be as high as £8.99 to send back the entire order.
