Prince Charles and Camilla appeared delighted to be meeting Katy Perry at a lavish gala in London this evening as the Prince of Wales announced the pop sensation would be an ambassador for the British Asian Trust.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, 72, donned their finery as they arrived at the Banqueting House for the dinner, which was being held to support the work of the charity that aims to offer social support across South Asia.
Last Friday Night singer Katy, 35, seemed equally happy to be joining the Prince of Wales again, after first meeting the heir to the British throne in India in November 2019.
During his address, His Royal Highness, 71, announced the American pop star as an ambassador of the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund for India.

Katy said she hoped to help ‘vulnerable and innocent’ children at risk of trafficking after she was announced as a new representative.
Sporting a glamorous royal blue, floor length gown, Katy beamed as she stood next to a smiling Duke and Duchess of Cornwall.
Her plunging ensemble appeared simplistically elegant while featuring a daring, fish-net style, sheer sleeve and neckline. The singing whizz completed her glamorous look with a slick high bun and a sparkling set of drop earrings.
Elsewhere, Camilla proved to be just as fashionable and dazzled in a black and red polka dot frock. Adding even more glitz to her shimmering ensemble, the duchess paired the long-sleeve gown with a silver necklace and eye-catching earrings.
The Prince of Wales, who founded the British Asian Trust in 2007 to tackle widespread poverty, inequality and injustice in South Asia, looked dashing in a classic black tuxedo, finished with a matching bow tie.

Speaking about her new role, Katy Perry said: ‘My work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador has taken me to many parts of the world and opened my eyes to the many vulnerabilities of children.
‘India has long held a special place in my heart, and on my last visit, I was able to meet with The Prince of Wales and other leaders in Mumbai, and I was impressed by their strong plan – from on-ground initiatives to fundraising – that will aim to cut child trafficking in half.
‘That is why I am especially honoured to be named an ambassador for the British Asian Trust’s Children’s Protection Fund, and to help shine my light on the work that the British Asian Trust will be doing in South Asia, and to be a part of finding solutions to child trafficking. Children are vulnerable and innocent and have to be protected.’

Joining Katy and the royal couple was businesswoman and fashionista Natasha Poonawalla, who has made a multimillion-pound pledge in support of the Fund. The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) will also match everything raised up to £25million.
DJ and music producer Naughty Boy, comedian Russell Peters and broadcaster Nihal Arthanayake were also among the guests at the black tie reception and dinner.
British billionaire Sir Chris Hohn and the CIFF are working with the British Asian Trust to create the largest anti-trafficking fund in Asia.
Prince Charles met with supporters of the Trust, senior Cabinet ministers and leading global business leaders during the event.

Since first forming, The British Asian Trust has supported programs in education, livelihoods, mental health and anti-trafficking, and has made a real difference to the lives of more than 4.8million people in South Asia.
It has recently expanded its remit into Bangladesh, after successful dealings in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Around 5.8million children are believed to be working in forced labour in India. In Jaipur alone, tens of thousands are thought to be working 15-hour days in hazardous workshops, producing goods such as bangles and embroidery.
As part of the Child Labour Free Jaipur Initiative, BAT has been working with business, government and communities to remove child labour from supply chains and encourage child labour-free products in markets.
