Prince Charles forced to intervene in Prince Andrew bust up | Royal | News

The Duke of York clashed with the Buckingham Palace aide during a discussion on a work-related issue and the outburst was so fiery his older brother Charles, the Prince of Wales, asked him to apologise. In recent weeks Andrew has tried to keep a low profile as the scandal over his links to billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein drags on. A source close to Andrew told The Mail on Sunday: “There were heated words on both sides but the altercation was in no way physical.

“It was a verbal dispute. It was a work-related issue.

“The Duke got very cross that what he wants wasn’t possible.”

The friend said when Charles asked Andrew to apologise to the aide he refused because “there was nothing to apologise for”.

They added: “The Duke maintains a good relationship with the Prince of Wales.”

Buckingham Palace and Clarence House declined to comment on the row, which reportedly happened in the past few weeks.

After cancelling a number of public engagements in the wake of the disgraced tycoon’s death in a New York prison last month, the Queen’s son attended a ceremony in Belgium on Saturday to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bruges.

Mrs Giuffre, as she is known, alleges she was forced to sleep with Andrew among other high profile friends of Mr Epstein after she was recruited as a teenage sex slave.

She claims Mr Epstein’s girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell spotted her while she was working as a towel girl at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and invited her to work for the tycoon.

Recently surfaced photos show Andrew posing with Mr Trump and his then-girlfriend Melania Knauss at a 2000 party thrown in honour of the prince.

In a mother snap taken on the same night, Mr Epstein and Ms Maxwell can be seen standing alongside the future US President and future First Lady at the star-studded bash in Mar-a-Lago.

Andrew’s youngest daughter Princess Eugenie is expected to push back the launch of her anti-slavery and sex trafficking podcast as the controversy surrounding her father’s links to Mr Epstein shows no sign of letting up.

Eugenie said: ”This is a whole, much bigger, larger issue that’s a hidden crime. It’s forced labor, forced marriage, domestic servitude. It’s people not being paid correctly.”
