The royal photographer behind Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding photos has spoken about the new picture released by the couple last week.
On Wednesday the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated two years of marriage, releasing a new black and white portrait as they laughed together in the grounds of Frogmore House.
And following the release of the new snap, New York-based celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski, who captured their engagement and wedding pictures, revealed it was a candid ‘outtake’ captured in the rose garden.
Describing them as the ‘happy couple’, he remembered how he was given three minutes to take informal pictures after the reception, resulting in the candid picture of Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38.

Last week Harry and Meghan posted the snap to their Sussex Royal account, writing: ‘On this day, two years ago: 27th of November 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the news of their engagement, later becoming Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex!’
Adding a heart emoji, they concluded: ‘They have since celebrated their wedding anniversary and welcomed their son, Archie, into the world’.
The couple tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on 19 May 2018.

On the day itself, Alexi recalls ‘practically screaming’ at the lovebirds to hold the ‘perfect’ frame, after asking Prince Harry to wrap his bride-to-be up in his coat on the winter’s day at Frogmore House – which would later serve as their wedding reception venue.
