Prince Harry was ‘very much the star of his own glitzy show’ with a ‘puffed chest’ and ‘confident stride’ at Miami polo tournament while Meghan ‘enjoyed him playing the sporting hero’, body language expert claims

Prince Harry was ‘very much the star of his own glitzy, machismo-infused show’ as he reigned victorious at a charity polo tournament yesterday, a body language expert has said.

While Harry was the focus of the day, the Duchess of Sussex, 42, didn’t seem to mind, throwing adoring glances at her husband and sharing a very romantic celebratory kiss in front of the cameras.

Images showed a delighted – but tired-looking – Harry celebrating with his teammates after the match, applauding his opponents before stepping up to accept his prize from his wife.

The pair shared a kiss as Meghan handed over the trophy, in a display body language expert Judi James says indicates the Duchess ‘is enjoying [Harry] play the sporting hero’.

But, as Judi explains, Harry was ‘very much the star of his own glitzy, machismo-infused show’ at the tournament, adding he ‘used a very traditional method of royal male peacocking to display his most confident and even his sexiest celebrity profile’.

She told MailOnline that Harry showed ‘signals of peak confidence in a world he knows well and intends to share with the cameras’ in an upcoming Netflix series, with every moment captured by a film crew.

‘His chest is puffed and splayed, his stride is wide as he walks ahead of his wife and his ear-to-ear grin looks almost constant,’ Judi added.

‘Meghan’s choice of killer heels suggests she’s not going to be stomping any divots but there are enough adoring glances thrown at Harry to suggest she is enjoying him play the sporting hero.

‘The couple’s hand clasp is a celebrity gesture as he tows her along protectively and when they show off the clasp on stage it looks very tight, with white knuckles, showing a mutual sense of closeness and support.’

Meghan and Harry arrived hand-in-hand at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge, which was to benefit Sentebale, with a camera crew in tow as they prepared to start filming their next Netflix special.

There are two series due to be launched by Harry and Meghan as part of their $100 million (£80 million) deal with the streaming giant – one likely to focus on cooking and lifestyle, and another with an emphasis on Harry’s polo experience.

One notable moment caught on camera was a romantic kiss between the Duke and Duchess, which Judi says brings back memories of King Charles and Princess Diana’s outings at the polo.

However, the body language expert says Meghan and Harry’s kiss is full of ‘love and affection’, if without the ‘”get a room” passion of their kiss in 2018’.

She said: ‘There are always memories of the fatal rupture in Charles and Diana’s marriage being illustrated by their own polo kisses over the years from shy and giggly to the moment Diana turned her head and a pained-looking Charles was left pressing his lips against her hair.

‘Harry and Meghan’s kiss here is a very mirrored, “book end” style PDA though, with both facing inward and both sets of hands on the cup.

‘It might be lacking the “get a room” passion of their kiss in 2018 but the love and affection are still obvious as Harry leans in to plant a smiling kiss on his wife’s lips.

‘Both sets of cheeks are rounded and raised here and their lips are pursed to signal a sense of fun and shared good humour.

‘It’s a very sweet kiss but the pleasure is still obvious on both sides, while Meghan’s towering heels do at least allow her to kiss at the same level here, creating a look of symmetry and equality.’

The Duchess of Sussex embraced the beaming sunshine in an elegant white dress, which featured a pleated skirt design, halterneck top, and a cut-out at the waist, completing her look with glamorous sunglasses, and a chain-strap shoulder bag.

She dared to risk potential disaster by sporting a pair of towering heels on the grassy terrain, but seemed to suffer no issue as she and Harry made their way across the field, while surrounded by burly security guards.

Meanwhile Harry opted for a pair of cream trousers, a pale grey jacket, and a crisp blue shirt, while donning some slip-on tan shoes – before changing into his team uniform and taking to the field for the match.

The couple were then seen striding out onto the field while surrounded by a crew of cameramen who captured their every move as they chatted with Harry’s teammates.

Harry and Meghan pulled up at the swish venue at around 4:30pm local time, with a Netflix film crew in tow shooting their every move for the couple’s upcoming series.

The cameras continued to roll as they hopped out of their white SUV with Harry’s Argentine polo player pal Nacho Figueras and were led to the clubhouse by excited staff as the Duke prepared to go head-to-head in the charity match against the Argentine star.
