Prince William turned 37 on June 21, and he’s started
sending fans thank-you cards for the birthday messages they sent him in the mail.
Royal fan Gertrude, who runs the blog Gert’s Royal Replies, writes
to the family often and has been doing so since
Prince George’s
first birthday in 2014. Gert shared a letter and photo received in the mail
from Kensington Palace on Aug. 26. The picture in question is from the Duke of Cambridge’s
2017 interview with British GQ. He also sent it to fans to say thank you for
their birthday wishes that year and in 2018.
“The Duke of Cambridge is most grateful to you for writing as
you did on the occasion of his 37
th birthday,” the note reads. “It
was really most thoughtful of you and His Royal Highness sends you his warmest
thanks and best wishes.”

In June, Gert also received a thank-you letter from the Queen after sending her a message for her 93rd birthday in April.
William and Kate also sent thank-you notes to fans who had
wished Prince Louis a happy first birthday earlier this year, and back in February,
Kate did the same for fans who wished her many happy returns on the occasion of her 37th.
“It was so kind of you to write to The Duchess of
Cambridge on the occasion of her 37th birthday,” a
note received by Christin Zi
read. “Your thoughtfulness was
greatly appreciated by Her Royal Highness, who sends her warmest thanks and
best wishes.”
William, Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte
and Louis have just returned home following a holiday at Balmoral in Scotland
with the Queen and Prince Philip. Charlotte is set to start school next week at Thomas’s
Battersea, and George will begin a new year there. The next day William will return to work when he visits Hendon Football Club in Kingsbury,
London to learn about the club’s mental health outreach initiatives. The event
is part of the royals’ Heads Up campaign.
