Princess Beatrice is forced to delay her wedding date announcement AGAIN in wake of Megxit

The Megxit drama has left one Royal Family member particularly disgruntled – Princess Beatrice.

The 31-year-old bride-in-waiting has been forced to delay her wedding date announcement yet again.

First, Beatrice and her property developer fiance Edo Mapelli Mozzi had to wait for a date to be agreed by the Queen, and then for the furore surrounding Prince Andrew to die down.

After that, the planned venue, The Guards’ Chapel, St James’s Park, had to be changed when the Duke of York announced he would be suspending ties with various military associations.

Generally, only current serving members of the military and their direct descendants can marry at the site, though exceptions can be made for civilians who are very well known to the church.

For this reason, the chapel was deemed to be a perfect choice – exclusive yet not traditionally Royal, and striking just the right note at a time when the Yorks’ prominence within the Royal Family is in flux.

However, the chapel, which played host to the wedding of Camilla and Andrew Parker Bowles in 1973, looks to be off the cards.

The Election, Christmas and New Year then got in the way, and now Beatrice has been upstaged by Harry and Meghan.

The wedding is said by sources to be planned for ‘early summer’ – before Royal Ascot week – but there’s no official date. And who knows what the Family might be up to by then?

Princess Beatrice was given permission by the Queen to bring her fiance to Sandringham for Christmas last year.

It is understood the Queen, like many senior royals, has felt desperately sorry for Beatrice, 31, who announced her engagement in September after a short romance but has seen her happiness overshadowed by the ongoing fallout from her father’s friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his disastrous interview on BBC2’s Newsnight programme.

The news comes after it was last week that new woes are brewing for Bea and Edo Mapelli Mozzi – and this time it’s all to do with the presence of his ex, Dara Huang.

Architect Dara remains so close to Edo, 37, that she still helps him to buy clothes, and even recently cut his hair and picked out his outfit for an occasion. It’s this continued closeness that is said to have led to tensions between Bea, her fiance and Dara.

Friends say that until now, Dara and Edo – who were engaged and have a three-year-old son together called Wolfie – have been able to maintain a firm friendship because they share parental responsibilities and ‘Bea is in New York all the time’ for work.

But the Princess has been in London much more lately and perhaps she has begun to notice that she doesn’t always have Edo to herself.

My source says: ‘Having initially been very cool about their friendship, Bea would rather there was a little more distance between Dara and Edo after all.

‘Edo may disagree, but Dara personally believes they would still be together were it not for Bea. But Bea has nothing to worry about – Dara cuts his hair and styles Edo because she’s a Tiger mum. She has no secret wish to get back together. Plus, she actually quite likes Beatrice.’

Despite the tension, Beatrice’s wedding is still very much going ahead, although last week it was confirmed that the event definitely will not be screened on TV.

Both the BBC and ITV revealed they would not be replacing scheduled programming with coverage of the event.

My source adds: ‘The ceremony will go ahead but it is looking like it will be far from a fairy tale wedding at the moment.’

I revealed last year that Dara is due to attend the event and that little Wolfie will be best man.

Dara has been on a strict diet and now weighs 8st 7lb – tiny for her 5ft 8in frame – thanks to a ‘no obvious carbs’ diet.

Edoardo was previously engaged for three-and-a-half years to the mother of his child, Dara, a highly-successful architect with her own design company whom he split from in 2018.

Edoardo was engaged for three-and-a-half years to Dara, and is thought to have started dating Beatrice, 31, while they were still living together, after their relationship ended.

A close family friend of Edo’s stated that the couple had split six months before.

In September Princess Beatrice announced her engagement to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, via a Buckingham Palace statement.

The royal started dating the Italian property developer in 2018.

Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi said of their 11-month whirlwind romance in a statement: ‘We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.

‘We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married.

‘We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.’

Engagement photos, taken by sister Princess Eugenie in the grounds of Windsor Great Park, showed Beatrice wearing a green floral £595 Zimmerman dress and showing off her 3.5 carat engagement ring by Shaun Leane, estimated to have cost £100,000, along with a £2,730 Cartier love bracelet.
