Princess Charlotte made the crowds erupt with laughter when she stuck her tongue out at them, instead of waving, as she joined her mother, the Duchess of Cambridge at a star-studded King’s Cup regatta at Cowes, Isle of Wight, today.
Charlotte, 4, and her brother George, 6, were there to support Kate and William as they went head-to-head in a charity sailing regatta – but it was not enough to help poor Kate who came away with the wooden spoon.
Excited Prince George flashed a gap-toothed grin – showing he’s lost even more milk teeth. While he also proudly showed off his captain’s hat and badge as he took in the action from a support boat alongside sister Charlotte, four, and grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton.
But the family support was not enough to spur William, 37, or Kate, also 37, to victory and the couple finished in third and eighth place, respectively.
Despite the loss the royals put on a sportsman like display at the prize-giving ceremony, congratulating winning skipper Bear Grylls as he was presented with the trophy.
After lifting the trophy, Grylls appeared to suggest that George had eaten an ant when he said: ‘And also Prince George, your first ant you ate today. And that is a great moment. Well done you.’
