Princess Diana would be ‘heartbroken’ over the state of Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship, a royal photographer has claimed.

The Duke, 35, and Duchess of Sussex, 38 returned to the UK earlier this month for their final engagements before quitting as senior members of the Royal Family on March 31.

Prince Harry and brother Prince William, 37, reunited last Monday for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, with royal watchers branding their interaction ‘frosty’.

And now royal photographer Jayne Fincher has told Page Six how their mother Princess Diana would be ‘doing everything to be the peacemaker’ and mend their relationship, while saying how ‘devastated’ Prince Charles, 71, will be over the situation.

Jayne said: ‘She’d be shaking the boy’s heads together saying, “For goodness sake. What’s going on here?” and I think she’d be trying to make peace between the girls, too.’

She added that Prince Charles was also likely upset by his sons’ relationship, saying: ‘Charles must be broken-hearted because he’s extremely close to those boys….That must be very devastating for him.’

Jayne, who worked as a royal photographer for the family for 20 years,  said Prince William and Prince Harry had ‘done everything’ together as children and were extremely close.

But she also noted how the brothers personalities were always different from one another.

She described Prince Harry as ‘quite a confident little boy’ while Prince William was less so.

She explained how as a child, the Duke of Sussex was ‘the one who really wasn’t perturbed’ by media and photographers.

She added that it was the Duke of Cambridge who ‘had his head down’ like Princess Diana, ‘hating every minute of it’.

Jayne’s comments come after a royal source told People magazine that Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has been ‘forever changed’.

Speaking about their once-close friendship, the source said: ‘They won’t get back to the way they were. Harry is looking straight ahead at his future with his family.’

It follows on-going claims over the past 18 months of a rift between the Sussexes and the Cambridges, first between Kate and Meghan, and then between future king Prince William and his younger brother, Harry.

The ‘Fab Four’ appeared in February 2018 to promote ‘the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’.

But the two households went on to split, with Harry and Meghan leaving Kensington Palace for Frogmore Cottage in Windsor and appointing their own staff.

From March 31, the monarch’s grandson and American former actress Meghan will no longer use their HRH styles as they pursue a new life of personal and financial freedom.
