Princess Kate update on return to more royal duties amid cancer fight

Princess Kate is hoping to make a return to more royal duties this year with two in the pipeline, it has been reported. The Princess of Wales is hoping to join other members of the royal family at the Cenotaph for the annual Remembrance Sunday commemoration.

She is also understood to be preparing to host her Christmas carol concert, according to reports. The moves come following months of cancer treatment.

According to The Sunday Times, she is “potentially” set to join King Charles on November 10 at the national service in Whitehall in honour of those who died in conflict. The publication said planning was also said to be under way for her annual televised Together At Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey in December, if she continues to have “more ‘good days’.”

Earlier this year she made an appearance at the Trooping the Colour in June. She posted a health update in a message written ahead of the event. She told how she was making good progress but was “not out of the woods yet.” She added that she had “good days and bad days” as she continued her treatment.

A date has yet to be set for her to return to public life. However she is understood to be holding more regular meetings as she works from home.

The 42-year-old princess has made two official public appearances since her diagnosis – after attending Trooping the Colour on June 15 she presented the Wimbledon men’s trophy in July. And on Friday, she said she was “looking forward to working” with the UK’s new Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields.

In a personal welcome message from Kate, who is joint president of the Scout Association, posted on the Waleses’ official social media account, she said: “Delighted to welcome Dwayne Fields as the new UK chief scout.

“The Scouts is such an incredible organisation, teaching skills for life and making a huge difference to young people across the country. Looking forward to working with you! C.” Kensington Palace declined to comment.
