Children’s Heart Federation (CHF) were invited to The British Cardiovascular Society’s centenary reception hosted by HRH The Princess Royal in recognition of their work.

Having built relationships over years of dedicated service working with patients and others in the congenital heart world CHF’s chair of trustees, Julie Wootton and vice-chair, Paul Willgoss MBE were delighted to have the charities work recognised at The British Cardiovascular Society’s centenary reception at St James’s Palace in London last month.

Vice-chair of CHF, Paul Willgoss MBE, said: “I’ve had the privilege of working with and raising awareness of childhood heart conditions for over 20 years. Being born with my own condition I know how important recognition of the issues we face is, and this chance to talk about them with The Princess Royal was a lovely way to start heart month.”

Rajwant Kaur Singh, the CEO of Children’s Heart Federation, said: “I am delighted that both the chair and vice-chair of the Children’s Heart Federation were recognised by the British Cardiovascular Society for their roles in the heart community, raising awareness and campaigning to improve the care and services for children with congenital or acquired heart conditions.

“It was great to see both Julie and Paul fulfilling CHF’s mission to provide recognition, research, and resources to support those affected by heart conditions in children.”
