Proud mother Kate Middleton reveals ‘her little Louis’ is talking as she’s ‘photobombed’ by toddler

The Duchess of Cambridge was ‘photobombed’ by a cheeky toddler today while on a visit to a Christmas tree farm – as she revealed 18-month-old Prince Louis is talking and desperate to follow his mother wherever she goes.

Kate, 38, made the remarks at Peterley Manor Farm in Buckinghamshire this afternoon, to mark her appointment as the new royal patron of charity Family Action.

The proud mother-of-three spent time making eco-friendly reindeer food, choosing Christmas trees and crafting decorations during the festive outing.

Laughing at one little boy who held his hand up to get her attention, saying: ‘Me, me,’ Kate stroked his cheek and said: ‘You remind me of my little Louis, he keeps saying “Me, me, me” and he wants to come everywhere with me.’

With her children never far from her mind, Prince William’s wife also mentioned her eldest Prince George, six, during her visit.

While photographers tried to get a photo of the duchess engaging with the children during an elf workshop, three-year-old Freddie Rusbridge jumped into the frame, sticking his tongue out at the cameras.

During the engagement Kate laughed and joked with the children and asked what they wanted for Christmas.

When one revealed they’d like a dinosaur, the mother-of-three replied: ‘Which one, a diplodocus or a T-rex?’

They went on to pretend to feed wooden reindeers and choose Christmas trees, with Kate helping Freddie and other children place a ribbon on their favourite.

Before leaving, Kate was presented with a bunch of roses and thistles, and crouched down to let some of the children smell them.

Pointing out the thistles in the bunch, Kate, who also shares daughter Princess Charlotte, four, with William, told them: ‘George loves thistles, really spiky ones.’

It is thought the young prince is being encouraged to love nature by his environmentalist grandfather Prince Charles.

Family Action was founded in 1869 to help families in difficulty by giving them practical help and support.

Kensington Palace announced in a statement today that the Queen is passing on the patronage of the charity after 65 years.

Today, Family Action continues to tackle difficult issues facing families – including financial hardship, mental health and emotional wellbeing, social isolation, parenting challenges, domestic abuse, and substance misuse.

Freddie’s mother Ann-Marie Walsh, 38, from Peterborough, who is currently unemployed, said the charity has been a ‘brilliant’ help to her family.

She told the Evening Standard: ‘I’m a single mum, and they (Family Action) helped steer me in the right direction.

‘They have helped me find my way when I have been upset and helped me look after my children – it means my children are happy.’

David Holmes, chief executive of Family Action, said: ‘The duchess was really interested in being able to highlight the importance of the early years, and how important it is to have a good start in life.

‘She’s such a strong advocate for that.’

The Duchess previously visited Family Action’s Lewisham base in January 2019 where she launched the charity’s national support line, FamilyLine.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also visited the charity’s ‘Family Monsters Garden’ at the Chelsea Flower Show in May 2019.

Prince William, currently visiting Oman and Kuwait, did not attend this event with the Duchess.
