The Dutch Royal Family put on a glamorous display as they attended one of the Netherlands’ most ceremonious celebrations on Tuesday.
Today marks Prince’s Day (Prinsjesdag), the opening day of the Dutch parliament, which takes place every year on the third Tuesday in September – and sees the royals take to the balcony of Noordeinde Palace to wave to crowds below.
King Willem-Alexander, 57, Queen Maxima, 53, and their daughters, Crown Princess Alexia, 19, and 20-year-old Crown Princess Amalia – who’s heir to the throne – donned their finery for the prestigious occasion.
It’s thought the King and Queen’s youngest daughter, Crown Princess Ariane, 17, is away studying at the Italian school she attends, UWC Adriatic.
For the outing, Princess Amalia looked gorgeous in a green cape dress from London-based fashion brand Safiyaa. The floor-length gown was recently worn by Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.

Adding a touch of glitz to her look, the princess donned a golden headband, as well as matching earrings, bracelets, rings and strappy heels.
Keeping with her metallic theme, the royal – who styled her blonde locks in loose curls – completed her glamorous ensemble with a gold clutch bag.
Her sister looked equally radiant in a red floor-length frock, featuring a cinched waist, a V-neckline and sheer arms, as well as a billowing pleated skirt.
She paired her bold look with cream gloves, a matching clutch bag and a pair of shimmering drop earrings.
Their mother, Maxima, meanwhile, commanded attention in a figure-hugging gown, boasting a giant statement bow on one of her shoulders.
Sporting a complementing hat, the Dutch Queen opted for silver accessories, including earrings and strappy heels as she joined her husband at the event.
Her elegant look was completed with a smattering of glamorous makeup and a stylish up-do hair style.
The royals attended the Prinsjesdag 2024 celebrations at the Noordeinde Royal Palace before driving to the Royal Theater, where King Willem-Alexander delivered the throne speech to the members of the Upper and Lower Chamber.
