The Queen will appear on her last set of Christmas stamps for the Royal Mail this festive season, following her passing in September aged 96. The set of six art-deco style stamps will each depict a key moment from the Nativity scene.
The silhouette of her profile, designed by Arnold Machin, has been seen on Christmas Royal Mail stamps since 1967.
The stamps for 2022 were designed by Kent artist Katie Ponder and show images from the Nativity story, such as Mary and Joseph journeying to Bethlehem and the Three Wise Men following the star.
The other images included are Mary and Joseph gazing at baby Jesus in his manger, the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary, the shepherds being visited by the angel and Gabriel shining in gold regalia.
A barcode on each stamp can also be scanned using the Royal Mail app to watch a festive Shaun the Sheep video, created by Aardman Studios.
Royal Mail policy director David Gold said: “Our Christmas stamp issue is always much anticipated, and it is one we particularly look forward to.
“The charming style of these designs sets the perfect tone for the festive season.”
Royal Mail also worked on the collection with The Reverend Lucy Winkett, Rector of St James’s Church in Piccadilly in central London, reported the Daily Mail.

On Christmas Day each year they attend a morning service at the St Mary Magdalene church on the estate before a festive lunch.
In a nod to their German heritage they open their presents on Christmas Eve.
However, they reportedly enjoy a friendly game of Charades on the day itself, according to Tatler.
