After a brief period of sunny weather today (Tuesday, February 24), the rain is likely to return in the coming days according to the Met Office.
The weather organisation states that while it will likely remain dry tomorrow (Wednesday, February 25) it will be wet on Friday (February 27).

There is an 80 per cent chance of rain on Friday morning and a 60 per cent chance on Thursday afternoon.
Temperatures are not likely to be higher than 16°C this week.

This latest forecast comes after a period of prolonged flooding in Oxfordshire, which has seen roads, paths and even shops temporarily closed.
Indeed, Seacourt Park & Ride is still closed due to flooding as are Lower Street in Islip and the road from Long Wittenham to Clifton Hampden.

Flood warnings have been issued over the past weeks, including for Islip, and though none are currently in force, 12 alerts remain in place indicating that flooding is possible.

Currently alerts include for the River Thames in and around the Oxford area, the River Cherwell from Lower Heyford down to and including Oxford, and the River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington and also the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock.
In addition alerts have been issued for River Windrush from Bourton to Newbridge, River Thames and tributaries from Buscot Wick down to Kings Lock, and for the River Ock from Watchfield to Abingdon, and also the Letcombe Brook at Wantage, Grove and East Hanney.
