ALEX LOWRY has signed a contract extension which will keep him at Rangers until 2025.
The Ibrox club have fended off interest from the Premier League to keep their young talent for another three years.
The academy graduate has performed brilliantly in what has been considered his breakthrough season at the club.
His great form for the B team in the Lowland League this season has rewarded him with four appearances for the first team under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
He netted on his debut against Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup at Ibrox back in January.
Lowry came on as a substitute in the first half and it took him just 15 minutes to make a name for himself and find the net.
He opened the scoring and Rangers went on to fire another three past their opponents.
The youngster then bagged his first league win in his first start a week later, after he got the nod to face Livingston.
Fans were quickly sold on the 18-year-old’s abilities, and he even caught the eyes of Premier League clubs.
But after months of questions being asked over his future, he has now committed himself to Rangers in a long-term deal.
And speaking after signing his new contract, he told Rangers TV: “I want to thank Ross Wilson, Craig Mulholland and the boss for giving me the chance and for showing faith in me.
“I can only thank them and hopefully I can repay them by kicking on now and getting more and more games and good performances under my belt for this great club.”
Sporting Director, Ross Wilson, added: “Alex has progressed really well across the season and we are pleased to have rewarded his development with this contract extension.
“Alex is part of an exciting group of young players who we have progressed to the first-team group from the Academy.
“He has already shown our fans moments of what he can do and we are sure there will be more of them to enjoy in the future as he continues to work hard on all aspect of his development.”
