Readers’ poll: Would it matter if the post was no longer delivered on Saturday? | Comment

Royal Mail is losing £1 million a day, and says delivering letters outside the Monday to Friday working week has become uneconomic. However, under the universal service obligation the postal service has to deliver letters to every address in the UK six days a week — and the government has rejected Royal Mail’s request to alter the terms and end Saturday deliveries.
