The Southport Air Show is back this weekend and thousands of people are expected to arrive on the Sefton coastline to witness the aerial spectacle. The annual event always draws in a huge crowd and this year will be no different.

The event returns from Saturday, August 30 to Sunday, August 31. This year’s air show promises more than just high-speed displays and aerial acrobatics, offering a chance to explore, discover, and interact with the people and stories behind aviation’s past, present and future.

We have a dedicated WhatsApp community called Things To Do In Liverpool where we send a carefully curated list of the best things happening in the city region each and every day.

And this weekend we will be bringing you the latest updates, news and best pictures from the Southport Air Show.

All you have to do to join is click on this link, select ‘Join Community’ and you’re in!

No one will be able to see your details in the community and you will only receive messages from the Liverpool ECHO team because other people will be unable to message in the group.

We will not spam your WhatsApp feed with constant messages, but you will receive updates from us daily.

If for some reason you decide you no longer want to be in our community, you can leave by clicking on the name at the top of your screen and clicking ‘Exit Group’.

The DH Vampire is also arriving all the way from Norway for the programme.
