Republican calls for Meghan Markle’s royal title ‘to be stripped’ after Congress letter

Meghan Markle has been told to “stick to acting” by Republicans who have dared the Royal Family to strip her of her title.

The duchess recently wrote a letter to Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer asking for paid family leave.

The lengthy letter detailed how in her childhood she was forced to do middle-class activities such as getting a job as a teen to pay for fuel and eating out.

The Duchess of Sussex has pushed for the national paid family leave program tucked into Democrats’ budget reconciliation plan for social spending, with her letter receiving positive responses from families across America.

However, not all responses have included hailing the royal for her bid for fair paid family leave after Meghan sent the letter under the name of the “Duchess of Sussex” and it was written on the Sussex’s own headed paper.

Rep. Jason Smith told the Daily Mail: “Ms. Markle’s latest interference in U.S. politics reignites the question in my mind as to why the Royal Family does not simply strip her and Harry officially of their titles, particularly since she insists on sending this under the pretense of being the Duchess of Sussex.

“While her attempts at appealing to working-class families by recalling her days of eating at Sizzler were laughable, her comments make crystal clear that the passage of this massive tax-and-spend bill is aimed more at helping global elites get huge tax breaks than helping the working families she claims to have dined with.”

Markle has caused rumours she was using “tactics of an aspiring politician” to lobby two senior Washington figures on President Joe Biden’s proposed parental and sick leave legislation.

It’s not the first time calls for her royal title to be stripped have been made against Harry and Meghan, who moved across the Atlantic last year. Last October, Smith requested the Crown strip their titles over interference in the US election.

Rep. Lisa McClain, told Daily Mail: “Meghan Markle is incredibly out of touch with the American people and should stick to acting instead of trying to play politics.

“The last thing we need right now is wealthy celebrities pushing their liberal agendas on the American people.”

The letter was reportedly sent by an “engaged citizen and a parent and as a mom” but some are viewing it as much more and speculation she has a dream to be a Democrat politician or even to run for US President.

Critics have slammed the letter as Meghan says she “grew up on $4.99 salad bar at Sizzler’ and how she worked at a frozen yoghurt shop at 13 to pay for necessary items.

It has been pointed out that many families couldn’t afford to eat out at all.
