Residents on a Nuneaton estate claim they have missed hospital appointments, lost bank cards, had cheques cancelled and could miss bills due to not receiving any post for three weeks. They say that they have not received post in the Barberton Grange and Cabin Hill Road areas of Galley Common for almost a month.
“Since November last year our post has been very hit and miss, ranging from every two days then the postal strikes over December which meant a lot of post was very delayed,” said a resident, who did not want to be named.
“Now we have no post man at all as our regular postie is off sick. We haven’t had mail for three weeks now.
“Residents have had missed hospital appointments, lost bank cards, cancelled cheques and late bills because of Royal Mail. I personally had a letter posted on the 15th of February and it’s still not arrived.”

The resident says that they have complained about the situation and even offered to pick up the post themselves – but have been told no.
“We were told a investigation would take place and it could last 10 days, so then asked if we could come and collect our post to be told ‘no we can’t’,” the resident said.
“We pay for stamps so why is our post not important enough to deliver, they deliver our parcels every day because that’s where the money comes from. “
CoventryLive contacted Royal Mail about the situation and a spokesperson said: “We are very sorry for the delays reported by some of your readers locally, and are looking into what happened.
“If these customers would like to pass us their contact details, we would be keen to get in touch to discuss their complaints.
“Anyone who has concerns over the delivery of their mail should contact the Royal Mail customer service team on 03457 740 740 or via the Royal Mail website www.royalmail.com.”
