Road Wars police cop retires from force after 30 years

A police officer is celebrating his retirement after a successful career of appearing on TV to catching swans like in the film Hot Fuzz.

Thames Valley Police posted on their page wishing PC Del Ingram a “happy retirement.”

After 30 years, the Bracknell and Wokingham police officer has changed his career to working for Royal Mail.

The retired cop appeared on TV show Road Wars, catching culprits within the Thames Valley area.

The force described him as a Road Wars hero who nicknamed his car ‘onion’ and loved to chase after ‘bandits’.

Police said: “We would like to wish the legend that is Road Wars hero, PC Del Ingram a happy retirement. We will miss you Del but its now time for you to relax and enjoy your time with your family (And make loads of airfix models and overdo the Xbox no doubt!) You are now showing 1-1…..thankyou for your service. Much love from all at TVP especially.”

The retired TVP officer came together with his colleagues to show respect and support for PC Andrew Harper, who was tragically killed when he was responding to reports of a burglary.

PC Ingram has backed Harpers Law campaign, where half a million people have signed the petition calling for that if a person found guilty of killing a police officer, firefighter, nurse, doctor, paramedic or prison officer as a direct result of a crime they have committed, then they would be jailed for life.
