Robbie Williams and Emeli Sandé lead the stars taking to the stage for the Royal Variety Performance

The Royal Variety Performance 2019 was held on Monday 18th November, at the London Palladium Theatre.

But now new images from the star-studded event have been released, ahead of its TV debut on Tuesday December 10th, with Robbie Williams, 45, and Emeli Sandé, 32, set to delight audiences at home with powerful on-stage performances.

The Let Me Entertain You hitmaker was clearly in his element as he paraded around with a microphone in hand, while Emeli was joined by a host of backing singers from and Manchester’s Bee Vocal choir for her turn under the spotlight.

The former Take That singer was unmissable in tartan trousers and a black blazer featuring red and gold cuffs and a matching collar.

Emeli looked angelic in a sleek white tuxedo dress as she stood in front of the choir dressed in all-black attire.  

The Royal Variety Performance 2019 is a British ITV entertainment programme, presented this year by by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan.

The event was held in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, at the London Palladium.

The star-studded extravaganza included special performances from Robbie Williams, Jamie Cullum, Emeli Sande, Lewis Capaldi and Mabel.

US jazz sensation Harry Connick Junior took to the stage to belt out a tune, as well as this year’s much-loved Britain’s Got Talent winner, Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery.  

More show-stopping spectacles were provided by the cast of West End hit Mary Poppins, while the stars of the musical Come from Away also entertained the crowd.

The spectacular show takes place every year, either in London or in a theatre around the United Kingdom, and it’s the third time Kate Middleton and William, both 37, have attended, following their 2014 and 2017 appearances.

The money raised from the show helps hundreds of entertainers throughout the UK, who need help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times. 

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got to meet some of the cast of the new well-received Mary Poppins musical – Petula Clark CBE, Zizi Strallen and Charlie Stemp, who play the Bird Lady, Mary Poppins and Bert respectively.
