THE Rotary Club of Dorchester Casterbridge will be raising money to provide aid for those affected by the Morocco earthquake.

Members of the Casterbridge Rotary Club will be out in South Street, Dorchester, today, Saturday, September 16 and on Wednesday, September 20 between 10am and 4pm collecting donations.

The 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco on Friday, September 8 at 11pm local time, leaving more than 2,800 people dead and a further 2,500 people injured, with thousands more displaced from their homes.

Club President Dave Harris said “All funds raised by the Casterbridge Rotary Club will be donated to ShelterBox to provide boxes which contain everything a family needs to rebuild their lives; a shelter, blankets, water purification system, cooking equipment and tools for rebuilding and planting.

“We know that the last few years have been difficult at home, but if you see our collectors, please give what you can to help,” he added.
