A row has broken out after a woman bought a Pandora bracelet on Facebook Marketplace from a Gloucester man who claims to have been made a Lord by the late Queen. The woman who bought the item says she has waited eight weeks for the bracelet to arrive.
The seller who goes by the name Lord Benjamin Baker, was questioned by the customer as to if the item had been sent, and he responded by telling her he was a very ‘honest’ person who works in government, and is a Chairman for the Official Monster Raving Loony Party (MRLP) Gloucester branch, but we could not find any record of Mr Baker being a Lord or working for the government, and the MRLP said he was not its chairman.
Mr Baker, during communication with the customer, has said he believes the item has been posted albeit by a relative and he has not been able to get hold of them. He has also stated his being awarded the title of a Lord by the late Queen and his government duties, has nothing to do with him having to produce proof the item was posted, when the customer asked where the proof of postage was.

Debi Fisher, 65, from Solihull, in the West Midlands, looked to buy her daughter a gift as a well done and congratulations for passing her driving test on the first try. She and her daughter, Charlotte Fisher, 19, looked on Facebook Marketplace for a Pandora bracelet and found one advertised by Mr Baker who lives in Gloucester.
Mr Baker, 37, from High Street in Gloucester, tells folks he is called Lord Benjamin Baker. In voice messages to Debi, he told her he had been in hospital and was waiting for his relative to get back to him with proof of postage.
During the message and voice note exchange, which became heated at times, he said he was going to raise her concerns about the postal service in his capacity working in government However, .we could find no record of Mr Baker currently working in any government position.
Mr Baker dipped his toe in the water of politics in March 2023 where he ran on behalf of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party for Westgate in Gloucester and lost having gained a mere 22 votes. Later he stood as an Independent candidate for Barton and Tredworth last year and lost having gained just over 200 votes.
As Debi was keen to get the bracelet delivered with an insurance guarantee, she said she would pay extra for postage. However, after weeks of the item not arriving, and no sign of proof of postage, she says she called her bank and asked if they could get her money back for her
Mr Baker says he had a call from his bank and instructed his bank to not return the money as he claims to have sent her the bracelet.
In a message exchange between him and Debi, he said he would call on Royal Mail to investigate the issue, however no proof of postage has come to fruition.

Debi said: “Eight weeks on and still no bracelet or my money back. Ben Baker will not send me proof he has ever posted it. I paid for the next day guaranteed delivery with insurance on January 26 and transferred him £62.60 in total.
“I have continued to ask for proof and all he does is deflect my requests with conversations about his self importance and this delusion he is all powerful and trust worthy. In a voice message he tells me that our late Queen gave him his Lordship title for his contributions to charity. If you’re so trustworthy then why not just provide me with the proof he has posted it.
“He continues to try and spin everything so he then becomes the victim. Accusing me of receiving the bracelet and then wanting a refund as well.
“Ben Baker advised me in a voice message that ‘he was horrified that the Royal Mail wasn’t delivering the mail and not handing people’s parcels correctly. And it was in his capacity of government ‘he intends to make sure the Royal Mail services work better for people like me’
“I did swear in the conversation, yet he is enough to make a saint swear. After weeks of ducking and diving when all he is asked to do is prove he has posted the bracelet.
“This has been a nightmare. This man will not prove he has sent it or give me my money back.
Charlotte texted Mr Baker from her Facebook account enquiring about another item three days after he said he was in hospital and he gave her his address. During the message exchange, Mr Baker said he was not available in the morning as he was leaving his home to travel to London at 5am as he is ‘in government’.
Mr Baker has failed to provide proof of postage to Debi. Furthermore, there are no records of Mr Baker ever having been made a Lord by the Queen and nothing on the House of Lords website to suggest he has this title in any capacity or working in government.
Mr Baker said: “I am committed to resolving this matter directly with Ms Fisher and ensuring that everything is handled fairly and transparently. Regarding the proof of postage, I apologise for not providing it initially. Unfortunately, I was unwell at the time, and someone else posted the item on my behalf. I am now working to obtain and provide the necessary documentation to Ms Fisher to resolve this matter.
“I don’t believe being given a title by the Queen has any relevance to the matter at hand. My claims of being an MP, I believe this question has no relevance to the matter of the Pandora bracelet being sold.
“In response to your question about the messages exchanged, I want to express my sincere apologies for any unkind words that may have been exchanged. However, it is important to note that Ms Fisher was also disrespectful in her communications.
“Additionally, I believe the question of my position as a Lord or working in government, has no relevance to the matter of the Pandora bracelet being sold.
“This matter is between myself and Ms Fisher, and I am working to resolve it directly with her. Any proof of postage will be obtained and directly given to Ms Fisher as soon as possible.
“Regarding the claims that I have been to the bank and Post Office to have this matter investigated, I can confirm that I have indeed taken steps to look into this issue.
“I have contacted both institutions to gather the necessary information and documentation.
“My version of events is straightforward: I sent the Pandora bracelet to Mrs Fisher, and I am now working to provide proof of postage. I am committed to resolving this matter fairly and transparently.
“The focus here should remain on resolving the issue of the missing bracelet, and I am actively working to provide proof of postage to address this matter.”
