These amazing pictures show two Royal Air Force Hercules aircraft flying over the skies of Oxfordshire.
On May 5, the C-130J Hercules aircraft departed RAF Brize Norton in West Oxfordshire as they flew on a formation sortie across the South West of England.
After departing Brize Norton and flying at low altitude in the vicinity of RAF Fairford, the pair then climbed to 2000 feet and practiced close-formation airdrop procedures.
With the sun setting, the aircraft flew over the Bristol Channel, where pilots from Numbers 47 and 24 Squadron conducted simulated formation airdrop training for operations in support of maritime forces.
The four-engine turboprop aircraft is capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, and was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft.
