Royal biographer claims Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t EVER return to Britain because the Duchess ‘won’t want to curtsy for Kate’

The Duchess of Sussex will not want to return to the UK in the future and face curtseying to the Princess of Wales, a royal biographer has suggested. 

Andrew Morton, who collaborated with Diana, Princess of Wales on his 1992 book Diana: Her True Story, ruled out a move back from the US for Meghan and the Duke of Sussex.

Mr Morton, asked whether he thought the Sussexes would ever come back to Britain, told Sky News’ Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips: ‘What, and have Meghan Markle curtseying to Kate Middleton? I don’t think so. I don’t see that as a runner. They’ve got their own lives in California.’

Royal Highnesses bow and curtsey only to majesties, so Meghan would only have to do so to Kate once the princess becomes Queen.

Harry is set for a brief solo trip to the UK without Meghan this week to attend the WellChild awards in London on September 7, before he heads to the Invictus Games in Germany, where the duchess will join him later. He is not said to be meeting his father the King, who is reported to have no time in his diary, or his brother the Prince of Wales, amid their continued troubled relationship, which Harry laid bare in his Netflix documentary and Spare memoir.

Harry’s visit falls on the eve of the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death and the King’s accession on September 8.

But a palace insider said the King had ‘no time in the diary’ to see his son, while his brother Prince William is not thought to have been in touch with Harry for months.

And Meghan will not accompany her husband to the UK, instead flying straight to Germany for the Invictus Games.

The Invictus Games is an annual international sporting event for wounded and injured service people and veterans founded by the Duke back in 2014. The 2023 instalment of the games, which begins on September 9 in Dusseldorf, comes amid the debut of the Prince’s Netflix documentary about last year’s event.

Released on Wednesday as part of the Sussexes’ £80million deal with the streaming giant, ‘Heart of Invictus’ has reportedly so far failed to break the top 10 charts in either the UK or US.

The five-episode series features athletes preparing for last year’s edition of the games and saw Harry open up about his mental health struggles after returning from military duty in Afghanistan. His wife Meghan Markle appears only briefly in several scenes in support of Harry.

But while the show has received positive ratings from the critics, it’s understood that the series has failed to impress the viewers at home. 

Newsweek reported that ‘Heart Of Invictus’ has so far failed to find any popularity with users of the streaming platform – missing out on reaching the daily Top 10 chart on each of the three days since its release.

‘Heart Of Invictus’ was reportedly intended to be the first of the Sussexes’ projects released in partnership with Netflix but was delayed.
