It’s been a tough time for Princess Beatrice with scandal engulfing her father, but it hasn’t cast a shadow over her wedding plans, with the bride-to-be revealing that she is ‘so excited’ to tie the knot.

Beatrice, 31, revealed she’s eagerly looking forward to the big day in a handwritten thank you note to German royal blogger Katherina, who wrote to the royal to congratulate her on her engagement to multi-millionaire Edo Mapelli Mozzi, 37.

Posting on Instagram, the royal enthusiast who has run the blog katsroyalletters since June 2019, gushed over the ‘beautiful reply’,  on monogrammed stationary featuring Beatrice’s initial topped with a crown.

It comes amid a difficult time for Beatrice, whose father Prince Andrew is engulfed in ongoing scandal over his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The handwritten message which highlights the upcoming union between Princess Beatrice and Edo, comes after their whirlwind romance saw them get engaged in September 2019.

Beatrice wrote: ‘Thank you so much for thinking of us after the engagement. It is so kind of you to wish us happiness for the future.

‘We are so excited to get married and begin life together. With our very best wishes, Beatrice & Edo’

Katherina seemed overwhelmed by the response, posting a series of heart emojis alongside many hashtags related to royalty.

The letter which arrived with a heartwarming photo of the couple from their engagement shoot at Windsor Great Park, racked up over 300 likes.

Congratulating Katherina, one person wrote: ‘Big congratulations my dear!! I love this response.’

Another said: ‘I can’t believe they send replies after all this time!’

A third added: ‘Congratulations’

Beatrice and Edo had been together for 11 months at the time they announced their plans to get married.

Father-of-one Edo proposed with a ring estimated to have cost £100,000, while the pair were visiting Italy.

The couple are believed to be planning a ‘low key’ wedding this summer, but the planning has somewhat been overshadowed by the ongoing scandal of her father’s friendship with deceased paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew was ‘sacked’ by the Queen after a disastrous Newsnight interview in which he failed to show any empathy for Epstein’s victims, and dragged Beatrice into the row by claiming he was with her at a pizza party on the day he allegedly slept with ‘sex slave’ Virginia Roberts.

Ms Roberts has claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew from the age of 17 after being trafficked by Epstein.

The Duke is facing mounting demands, including from Ms Roberts, to co-operate with an FBI investigation into Epstein’s sordid activities.
