Daily Mail’s royal experts, Rebecca English, Charlotte Griffiths, Richard Eden, and host Jo Elvin sat down for the latest episode of Palace Confidential and reflected on Harry’s claims. English noted how the judge informed Harry: “Look, your arguments, you’re clearly clearly very emotional, they’re powerful. They’re persuasive in some ways, but they don’t equate to an argument in law. And I uphold all of the other two rulings against you,” and argued that the Duke threw a ‘hissy fit.’

She said, “Now, where Harry goes from here, I don’t know, and we’ve obviously seen he’s had quite a kind of monumental hissy fit on television afterwards.” Chiming in, Eden focused on the Duke’s alleged desperation to talk about his court case. He said, “I thought he didn’t look well in his expression, his demeanor. Often, if you are angry about something, people say you should sleep on it. But, this seemed to be something, and I think the BBC would confirm that it was done in a hurry.” Eden revealed that it was in fact Harry who approached the BBC for the interview. Eden stressed, “It wasn’t the people demanding an interview from him.”

During the interview, Harry said, “I don’t want history to repeat itself. I think there are a lot of other people out there, the majority of whom also don’t want history to repeat itself. Through the disclosure process, I’ve discovered that some people want history to repeat itself, which is pretty dark.” Harry was hinting at his mother’s death, which got Eden questioning his ‘state of mind.’

Meanwhile, Griffiths argued that the interview may have been the only medium through which Harry could speak to his father. She said, “He made it clear he can’t get hold of his father. It felt like the only way he could speak to his father or something, that might have been the motivation behind it.” Moreover, she found him to look like a ‘broken man,’ his words shocking her. She said, “Some aspects of it are really very disturbing.” In his interview, Harry asserted that he was aware his family would not forgive him. Nevertheless, he wished, “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. But, it would be nice to reconcile.”
