She may be known for her classic country apparel and iconic riding boots.
But Catherine has proved she can do both haute couture and effortless casual looks.
In the fashion special of Palace Confidential royal experts commented on how the Princess of Wales has taken a leaf out of Queen Elizabeth’s book with her famous motto ‘you are there, and you need to be seen’.
She has embraced vivid, solid colours such as the striking red cape-style coat by Catherine Walker with a matching hat she wore on a South Korea state visit.
Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English, who has travelled the world with all of the senior royals, said: ‘You knew she had arrived and all eyes were on her.’
She also looked at the top of her game in a red hat and Catherine Walker dress at the Commonwealth Day service earlier this month.
But these items were not new – she first wore the hat in 2014 when Prince George was a baby and this is her third time wearing the coat – proving staple pieces can be worn again and again and still look good as new.
The Princess of Wales’s secret weapon and ‘right hand woman’ is her stylist Natasha Jackson who has worked with the royal since 2007.

Catherine’s secret weapon and ‘right hand woman’ is her stylist Natasha Jackson who has worked with the royal since 2007
Previously Natasha was a PA and was often pictured carrying Kate’s bags on and off planes for Royal tours and has helped develop her working wardrobe.
Sources say Natasha, who is married to Royal photographer Chris Jackson, has been dedicated to Catherine and has been seen assisting her as she travelled to and from hospital appointments.
Before joining William and Kate Natasha worked in the private office of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
The princess tends to stick to designers such as Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton, Catherine Walker and Emilia Wickstead and Jenny Packham.
But another of Catherine’s fashion secrets is sticking to classic designs and incorporating trendy items in a very discreet and timeless way.
Catherine has a tall, narrow figure and when paired with her innate confidence makes any outfit look classy and chic.

In the episode the royal experts spoke about the Princess of Wales’s visit to the University of Nottingham in 2023 when she wore a Sezane woolen two piece skirt set, fitting the tone just right.
It can be very tough to get casual wear right while still looking polished.
Rebecca said: ‘The look comes naturally to her because she’s from a country background – that’s her comfort zone.’
Kate has began to incorporate more of the Canadian designer Edeline Lee into her working wardrobe, which a lot of high-power women are wearing.
The Princess of Wales is a style icon for many and people tend to follow where she leads, such as the brand Self-Portrait which she helped popularise and has now become a favourite of Princess Beatrice too.
The Royal Editor shared how Kate wore a pair of earrings from small Welsh designer brand and bolstered her business.
Rebecca said: ‘I remember being contacted by a designer called Hayley and she runs a company called Spells of Love.

‘Catherine had worn one of her pairs of earrings on a trip to Wales – I think they were probably between £40 and £60.
‘She was almost crying saying “you don’t know what this has done for my business. It has sent it stratospheric.”
‘I’ve kept in touch with her over the years and she’ll always email me and say when Princess Kate is wearing them again and she often re-wears them when she goes to Wales.
‘People can be a little bit condescending when it comes to fashion sometimes and I can just tell you from that one woman the difference it has made to her business and it’s a story I’ve heard time and time again.’
Spells of Love’s Instagram page has a modest 14.8K followers and features timeless gold designs which are very on trend.
Another royal who has made fashion headlines is Princess Beatrice with her recent transformation.
Miles away from the notorious pretzel hat, she stunned in a cream Self-Portrait outfit recently with bow details and silver jewellery.
Stylist Olivia Buckingham has been praised for making this difference, beginning with the blue Needle & Thread dress Beatrice wore at the Jordanian wedding.

MailOnline Royals editor Claire Cisotti said: ‘When she walked out it was like the lights switched on with everybody. She looked incredible and then she topped that with the most beautiful dress in the evening.
‘We have seen her gradually go up the fashion stakes every time she comes out in an outfit – whether it’s Self-Portrait or Vampires Wife – she looks incredible.
‘Olivia finds shapes for her petite figure which make Beatrice shine and accentuate how tiny she is. The shape suits her perfectly and it’s an incredible transformation.’
The experts added: ‘Beatrice’s journey is a reminder that not all the royals get all the help in that department that people might assume.
‘They have their in-house seamstress but Catherine has an external one who made a dress from scratch for her visit to Canada.
‘Everyone was very keen to find out who they were and no-one ever has’.
