Buckingham Palace are reportedly drawing up plans for Prince Harry and Meghan to attend the King’s coronation in May. The Daily Mail reported that staff organising the logistics for the historic event have been instructed to include the Sussexes in their programme.
The coronation of King Charles III is due to take place on May 6, with no official word from the couple that they have formally accepted the invitation. Their spokesperson revealed last week that they had received an email invite but had no “immediate decision” would be disclosed.
The Mail reported that negotiations around what events the couple would attend, as well as their seating arrangements, clothes and their security would likely go down to the wire.

However, the fact that officials within the Master of the Household’s Department and the Lord Chamberlain’s Office are anticipating their presence is the strongest indicator that the Duke and Duchess could make an appearance.
One source told the Mail last night: “Harry and Meghan are being factored into all of the planning…. the cars, the seating plans, dining arrangements, everything.
“No one knows for certain whether this means they have definitely accepted – it could, of course, be just in case they do – but it’s clearly not a “no”. The staff are certainly working on the expectation they are coming. These kind of arrangements have to be made well in advance.”
Another source with knowledge of Meghan and Harry’s thoughts backed the suggestion, saying: “The indication is that they are, although there is a lot that needs to be worked through first.”
A spokesman for the Sussexes revealed last week: “I can confirm the duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the Coronation.”
But they added: ‘An immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.’
The news of their potential appearance comes after the couple decided to start publicly calling their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Since departing the Royal Family, the couple have only returned to the UK on a handful of occasions, such as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and to attend her funeral.
