Before finding love with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry dated multiple famous faces. For some, the royal life was not one that they wanted and the attention that comes with being the partner of a royal was too much to handle. One of the prospective spouses that eventually called it quits with the Prince was Cressida Bonas.
It was back in 2012 that Harry started dating the actress and model. She had worked for Burberry in the past but the extra attention she gained from being Harry’s partner eventually ended their relationship. Matchmaker Princess Eugenie reportedly introduced the pair to each other and they dated for a couple of years, often being spotted at events together.
Their relationship came to a head in 2014 when Cressida relaised that she didn’t want to be a part of Royal life. The break-up was sparked by William and Kate’s tour of Australia, in 2014, which reportedly “spooked” Cressida. Royal biographer Robert Lacey explained the relationship in his book, Battle of Brothers.

He said: “A rising actress, Cressida did not enjoy the critical remarks that she could hear people making behind her back when she walked down the street in London – she felt that the fame of her relationship put her ‘in a box’.
“In 2014, she was said to have been ‘completely spooked’ after watching the TV coverage of William and Kate touring New Zealand with baby George in tow – that was not the way she would want to enjoy her eight-month-old son, she regretfully explained to Harry.”
Harry and Cressida remained friends and she too was invited to his wedding. Now, Cressida is married to another Harry – Harry Wentworth-Stanley, who she wed in lockdown. The couple is expecting their first child together.
