A video of Meghan Markle twerking recently went viral, and despite backlash from royal observers, Markle has no qualms with the video’s reception and reportedly views it as “a PR win.”
In a post to Instagram on June 4, Markle shared a throwback video from when she was pregnant with her daughter, Lilibet. In the clip, Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, broke into dance, complete with twerking movements, in celebration of their daughter’s upcoming arrival.
Markle captioned the video, “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do! 😂”
An inside source reported to The Daily Mail that the royal family was not impressed with Markle’s dance video, saying, “There is a general sense [among the Royals] that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have lost it…[the clip received] a lot of raised eyebrows.”
Although the royals, and many other celibate individuals online, are not impressed with Markle’s dance video, a different source told The Daily Mail that Markle viewed the video and its reception as a major success, saying, “Meghan is very pleased with the video.”
“In the UK, everyone’s reaction has been a bit prudish,” the source continued. “Everywhere else, particularly in America and especially with young people, it has been a huge hit…She and her team count it as a win, which can only be a boost for sales. Her new products are marketed at Americans and not at the UK market.”
Markle is set to launch a series of new projects for her As Ever brand.
Markle has consistently received a disproportionate amount of hate from fans on social media, with many scorning her for purportedly “artificial” behavior.
