Royal fans left in awe of six-year-old Prince Louis’s ‘amazing’ photography skills as he takes a stunning photo of his mother Kate Middleton

Royal fans have been left delighted after it was revealed that cheeky six-year-old Prince Louis was the photographer that captured his mother, the Princess of Wales, in a poignant portrait to mark World Cancer Day tomorrow.

Wellwishers were wowed by the young royal’s skills – commenting that he clearly takes after camera-savvy Kate Middleton, 43 – in comments left under the photo of the future Queen in Windsor.

Prince William’s wife, who is currently in remission from the disease, issued the picture, as well as a second image taken by herself, with a personal message on social media.

The heartwarming caption read: ‘Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. C #WorldCancerDay’.

Social media users rushed to gush over Louis’ adorable picture, and compliment his abilities.

Many felt that the image showed an affinity for photography, much like his mother.

‘Prince Louis that is an amazing photo,’ one praised.

‘What a sweet picture and powerful message!’ another added. ‘Well done, Louis, you definitely have your Mama’s photography skills.’

One added: ‘Louis taking after his mum.’

‘I can’t believe that this photo was taken by Louis,’ a fourth remarked ‘That’s so sweet.’

‘Such a beautiful picture and message,’ a commenter praised. ‘I absolutely love that Prince Louis was behind the camera! He has a talent for it like you.’

A royal aide emphasised that spending time in nature has been extremely important to the Princess over the past year as she underwent her own cancer journey, which is reflected in both images.

The image taken by her son shows Kate smiling joyfully, her arms outstretched during a walk in the woods over the winter.

She is wearing a peaked hat, scarf, overcoat and mittens with grey jeans tucked into knee-length boots.

Frost covers the ferns and sunlight peaks through the bare trees.

The second image, taken by Kate, is a close up of the ferns with her own personal message.

In July the Princess issued a statement in which she talked about ‘healing power’ of nature, emphasising the strength she has taken from the outdoors world.

In September, sources close to Kate also talked about how she ‘has drawn strength from her family and loved ones and from spending time on things which bring her joy.’

They said these elements, plus ‘the sanctuary she has found in the natural world’ were all strongly represented in an astonishingly intimate video also released of the Princess with her family in Norfolk.

It comes as, last week, Kate arrived for her first royal ‘away day’ since 2023 as part of her slow and steady return to royal duties as she visited a sock manufacturer and children’s hospice, of which she has become patron.

It wasn’t long before the princess got stuck in to the visit, as she made a beeline for adorable children who visit the hospice who were using the soft play area.

She took part in a musical session with children suffering from life-limiting conditions and even had her hand painted red to leave a permanent memory of her visit – just as King Charles had done years previously.

Later on in the day, Kate visited Corgi, a textiles manufacturer in Ammanford focusing on socks and knitwear.

It is no coincidence that the princess has chosen South Wales to undertake two solo engagements given her title and love for the country and its people, sources have told the Mail.

At Tŷ Hafan, Kate, who is a mother of three, chatted to young children including a little girl who uses a wheelchair, and who was dressed in pink and had her hair in pigtails for the occasion.

Speaking to the young girl, she asked: ‘What do you like doing when you’re here?’ before she replied to explain she enjoyed music.

Kate then asked: ‘Have you played any of the instruments?’ and picked up a rattle before giving it a little shake. The little girl erupted in giggles and went on to demonstrate her percussion playing on a xylophone.

She was overheard discussing ‘challenging’ times for families as she spoke with parents whose children have received care from the hospice.

Catherine had joined children at a ‘stay and play’ fun-filled event after Kensington Palace donated musical instruments – and admitted her own children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would have ‘loved’ the activities.

Walking into the room where children were entertained by a guitarist, she said: ‘This is very vibrant.’
