Royal Mail ‘modernisation’ to cost 16,000 jobs, union fears (Evening Standard)

Union chiefs today warned that up to 16,000 jobs face the axe at the Royal Mail. The postal service is reportedly considering reducing costs by 10 per cent. Union bosses fear this could see one in 10 of the 160,000-strong workforce losing their jobs.
