There are Royal Mail delays in 14 areas across the country including several postcodes in Greater Manchester.
Royal Mail operates from Monday to Saturday but can experience delays due to local issues affecting delivery offices or disruptions to its air, road, rail, or mail centre networks.
Two Greater Manchester delivery offices are experiencing issues today – Heywood and Manchester South East. This means that people who live in the following postcodes could be impacted by delays: OL10, M11, M12, M13 and M18.
Royal Mail posts regular updates on its website advising Brits of any possible delays. Today they wrote: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We will regularly update customers on the offices most impacted.”
