Royal Mail shared that deliveries are operating as normal across the UK today. The postal service aims to deliver to all the addresses it has mail for, six days a week.
However, this is not always possible in a small number of local offices due to high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors including poor weather conditions.
The postal service explained that in affected local offices, deliveries will be rotated to “minimise the delay to individual customers”.
‘We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
This weekend, seven UK areas will likely be affected by postal delays.

Royal Mail updated customers on services in Glasgow: “Delivery and collection services were disrupted on Friday, May 19, in the G1 to G5 postcode areas due to un-balloted industrial action.
“The Customer Service Point remains open. Please check roylamail.com/services-near-you for opening hours today.
“We apologise for any disruption caused due to this un-balloted action being taken by members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU).”
The postal service also gave an update on its international export services, explaining that following the restoration of Royal Mail International export services, delivery of international items may take slightly longer than usual.
Those who cannot see tracking information for their items should visit the overseas postal tracking service at https://www.royalmail.com/sending/international/overseas-postal-tracking.
Customers sending items requiring a customs declaration (such as goods or gifts) internationally should purchase postage online rather than sing stamps or metres.
They can do this through shipping solutions or over the counter at Post Office branches.
