Royal Mail announces postcodes affected by delays today

Royal Mail aims to deliver to all addresses it has mail for, six days a week.

However, this is not always possible due to resourcing issues, high levels of staff sickness absences, local factors and sometimes poor weather conditions.

Today, Monday June 26, Royal Mail assured customers that “deliveries are operating as normal”, aside from a “small number” of local offices affected by delays.

Royal Mail assured customers that in these cases, the postal service will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

It will also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore Royal Mail’s service to its regular high standards.

Royal Mail apologised for any inconvenience caused to customers.

The postal service added that if customers need to collect an item for which a ‘Something for You’ card has been left, they can check  royalmail.com/services-near-you for details.

Royal Mail also gave an update of the movement of mail through the network over the weekend. Its air, road and rail networks all operated to schedule.

However, there were some disruptions in Mail Centres across the UK.

Royal Mail stated: “The mail centres below reported not all mail was processed or despatched to schedule over the weekend. As a result, some mail may be delivered later than planned.”

Aberdeen: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK, due for delivery from today in the AB and ZE postcode areas.

Northern Ireland: Some mail posted in other parts of the UK, due for delivery from today BT postcode area.

Chester: Some mail posted over the weekend in the CH, LL and SY postcode areas, due for delivery across other parts of the UK

Over the weekend there were some postcodes Royal Mail did not deliver to or collect from.
