Royal Mail apologises to Birmingham residents after ‘impact’ on post deliveries

One resident said he hadn’t received a letter in weeks

Royal Mail apologised after ‘severe weather conditions’ disrupted postal routes in Birmingham..

BirminghamLive was approached by residents in Northfield on January 14 who expressed concern with recent deliveries.

One said he had not received a letter in weeks and called the service ‘shocking’.

Royal Mail confirmed the Northfield branch had been impacted which led to a backlog in post.

Citing ‘severe weather conditions’ and other challenges, Royal Mail apologised to Northfield residents for the delay.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “Severe weather conditions and resourcing challenges have had an impact on deliveries in Northfield in the last two weeks.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and our posties are going above and beyond to ensure deliveries return to normal as quickly as possible.”
