Royal Mail are recruiting – The Christmas jobs you can apply for today

Whether you like it or not, Christmas is less than 100 days away and although Santa’s sleigh and last-minute present shopping may be a distant thought for most of us, getting a job for the season might be something you want to secure now.

If you fancy helping make sure children’s letters to the man himself, online shopping and presents get to where they need to go, then the Royal Mail would like to hear from you.

It is recruiting in many of its UK mail centres, including Cornwall, Plymouth and Exeter at the busiest time of year.

There are a mix of full and part time indoor sorting positions on early, late and night shifts, which will be available from early November until December 23.

The company said: “Here at Royal Mail, Christmas is our busiest time of year. With so many parcels and letters coming through our warehouse doors, it’s no surprise that we need a few thousand extra helping hands to get everything where it needs to go. That’s why, every year, we hire temporary Mail Centre workers from all different walks of life to help us deliver Christmas across the UK.

“Just like Mr & Mrs Claus, you will help to deliver Christmas to everybody in the UK. Flexible and adaptable at all times, you will be doing a very important job. You’ll be helping us unload mail and parcels from our vans, moving them around our warehouses and then sorting them so they arrive at their destination safely – sometimes sorting over a million items in a single shift with your team.”

Here’s a rundown of what roles are available – and everything you need to know, including the hours and wages.
