Royal Mail Borders staff thanked by Borders MSP and MP

John Lamont, MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk and MSP Rachael Hamilton, for Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire, visited the Royal Mail delivery offices in Coldstream and Hawick.

Mr Lamont praised the staff’s work ethic during the busy Christmas period, saying: “Posties do an amazing job throughout the year, but Christmas is an especially busy time for them, as I’m sure we can all appreciate.

“I was delighted to recently pop into Coldstream delivery office to thank them for all their hard work, and drop off a sweet treat to help them through the festive season.

“Rain or shine, posties go the extra mile to make sure cards and parcels arrive as quickly as possible.

“Our communities are hugely grateful for the commitment and incredible efforts they put in every single day.”

Ms Hamilton also praised the staff as they battle through all types of weather to get people their packages.

She said: “I’m very grateful to local posties for the commitment they show and hard work they put in, particularly at this most challenging time of year.

“They are out in all weathers, dealing with huge increases in deliveries, and continue to provide a reliable and valued service for communities right across the Borders.

“It was a pleasure to visit Hawick delivery office to thank staff in person and recognise the vital role they play, especially during the festive season when their work means so much to so many people.”
