Royal Mail brings forward last post dates for Christmas

Those needing to send letters and packages to arrive in time for Christmas are being urged to be aware of changes to posting dates. Industrial action has meant that changes have been made to the last posting dates to allow more time for people to get their deliveries.

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has advised Royal Mail and ParcelForce Worldwide of industrial action set to take place on December 9, 11, 14 and 15 which could lead to delays with Christmas deliveries. Post Office branches will remain open but the Royal Mail has warned there will be some disruption to letters and parcel collections on the dates of industrial action.

A spokesman for the Royal Mail said: “Get your cards, gifts and greetings there in time for Christmas. Check the latest recommended posting dates for all UK and international services as some international dates are earlier than last year.
