Royal Mail Cart Bowls Club win the Challenge Bowl title

Royal Mail Cart Bowls Club not only successfully defended their Challenge Bowl title but won it for the fourth time in a row on Saturday.

The finals day was held at Burton House Bowls Club and Royal Mail Cart were joined by Cleethorpes, Sleaford Town and Horncastle to play for the title.

Royal Mail Cart played Cleethorpes in one semi-final while Sleaford Town faced Horncastle in the other.

In the semi-final, Royal Mail Cart were dominant in a match interrupted by rain at one point, but this did not phase them as they beat Cleethorpes 92-62. Their opposition in the final were Sleaford Town who beat Horncastle 93-69.

Royal Mail Cart started well in the final and never looked back as they beat Sleaford Town 100-71 and lifted the Challenge Bowl trophy for the fourth successive season.

By winning this title, Royal Mail Cart will be Lincolnshire’s representatives in the Durham Centenary Trophy in the 2025 season, a competition which they won in 2022.

They play Stute from Derbyshire in the 2024 final at the EBF National Championships at Skegness on Saturday, August 17.
