Royal Mail Christmas 2025 last posting dates for UK and overseas – act fast before deadline

Christmas – and maybe even snow – are right round the corner and no one wants to be caught out when trying to send their cards and presents to their loved ones.

Royal Mail remains one of the most reliable ways to make sure gifts get where they need to in time for opening on Christmas day. But even posties and post sorters need a day off at Christmas time.

The Royal Mail Group will not operate on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day, with neither collections or deliveries taking place on either of these days.

There will also be last posting dates for the festive period for anyone who wants something to get to their recipient in time for Christmas Day. These vary depending on the different service a sender is using.

Royal Mail advises that it is a good idea to post as early as possible to ensure that Christmas letters and parcels reach their destination in good time. While their last posting dates are correct at the time of publishing, they are still subject to change.
