Royal Mail has been experiencing delays over the past few months due to Covid-related issues, such as staff shortages. The company has today, January 15, updated customers on which postcodes in the country are still being affected by the delays.
Royal Mail has said it is doing its best to deliver parcels throughout the UK, but there are several areas in the country which are currently affected by late deliveries.
The company has updated its website to inform customers about the current state of its service.
It explained that weekend deliveries are different to weekdays, saying: “Weekend delivery and collection services are expected to take place on Saturday 15 January 2022.
“There are no deliveries or collections on Sunday 16 January 2022 (except Covid-19 test kits from Priority Postboxes).

“Most of our Customer Service Points are open both Saturday and Sunday for you to collect urgent items for which we’ve left a ‘Something for you’ card – please visit royalmail.com/services-near-you for their opening times.”
Royal Mail went on to list the postcodes affected by delayed letters and parcels today.
There were 56 areas on the list.
The company explained: “Deliveries are operating as normal across most of the country today.
DON’T MISS:
“We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.
“In a small number of local offices this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as Covid-related self-isolation, high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.
“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
Twitter user Hoodoo Annie wrote: “Anyone in Cardiff and Stockton On Tees know if there are any postal delays? Two customers still waiting for their packages… The Stockton one is a week late… @RoyalMail can you help shed some light on this, please.”
Marine Champouret said: “@RoyalMail One of my parcels is still showing as haven’t left the post office it was handed at on 24th of December!!! Any hope of seeing it turn up soon??? I get a few days delay but almost a month now!!!”
Tariq Iqbal added: “@RoyalMail please can I get my post, it been several weeks now and I’m waiting on an really important letter.”
