Royal Mail delivery delays continue in Merseyside today — check postcodes

Royal Mail’s delivery disruptions have continued today, affecting 29 UK postcodes including ones in Merseyside. Residences and businesses throughout England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are experiencing postal delays.

Delays have persisted throughout this week, and as of Friday, March 27, 29 postcode areas are experiencing disruptions. Across the UK, 14 Royal Mail delivery offices, including Prenton, have reported delays.

Royal Mail has also faced disruptions in its air and road network over the past 24 hours. A flight carrying mail from the East Midlands to Prestwick had to return to East Midlands Airport due to weather conditions.

The company said: “As a result, some mail posted in parts of the Midlands, South West, North of England and Northern Ireland, for delivery in Central and Southern Scotland may arrive later than planned.”

A vehicle taking mail from Glasgow to the Midlands Parcel hub arrived later than scheduled, which is affecting some deliveries.

“As a result, some mail posted in parts of the G, KA, ML and PA postcode areas, for delivery in parts of London and the South East, the South West, the Midlands and Northern Ireland may arrive later than planned,” Royal Mail stated.

“We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors. In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.

“We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
