Royal Mail has issued fresh warnings to 105 UK postcodes that deliveries may be disrupted this week. The postal giant cautioned that delays are affecting both letters and parcels.
It normally aims to reach all addresses six days a week. However, disruptions have meant some post will not arrive as expected.
Just last week, Royal Mail alerted 146 UK postcodes about delays in their areas. The warning covered locations including Dundee, Hull, Penarth, Shrewsbury and Glasgow.
Over the weekend, Royal Mail’s air and road services ran to schedule. However, not all mail was processed or dispatched to schedule at their Nottingham Mail Centre, reports the Mirror.
Royal Mail said: “Some mail posted in the DE and NG postcode areas on Friday, for delivery in other parts of the UK on Saturday.”
The postal service updates their website daily to outline affected areas. As of Monday 16 February, five delivery offices in Scotland have reported delays that are impacting multiple postcodes.
Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
