Royal Mail delivery delays warning West Midlands customers among other postcodes – full list

Royal Mail has issued a warning to customers in the West Midlands they may face delays on Monday, January 27. Various factors affecting normal operations in different parts of the country, including Dudley.

The postal service, which operates six days a week from Monday to Saturday, delivering letters and parcels to millions of households across the UK, has reported issues in the past 24 hours. This means post may not arrive on time in some postcode areas.

A fresh service update on the Royal Mail website reads: “Some mail posted on Friday in the BA, BS, GL and TA postcode areas for delivery on Saturday in other parts of the UK may arrive later than planned.” Severe weather conditions over the weekend have disrupted normal Royal Mail services in Scotland. The service warned: “As a result, some mail may arrive later than expected.”

Mail movement through the services’ road networks was also impacted in the past 24 hours, reports the Express. “A fault with a trailer caused a vehicle to be late departing from our Midlands Hub to our Home Counties North Mail Centre,” said Royal Mail. Some mail due for delivery in the AL, EN, HP, LU, SG and WD postcode areas may arrive later than expected.

The Royal Mail, the UK’s national postal service, has identified a number of postcodes that are “most impacted” by “local issues”. With around 1,350 delivery offices across the UK, each serving a selection of local postcodes, the organisation stated: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.”

Today, seven delivery offices have been hit by these issues, resulting in potential delays to scheduled deliveries in 17 postcodes, including households in Manchester, Sale, Dudley and Leicester.
