The Barnsley delivery office on Pitt Street was closed last Wednesday, June 24, after a number of staff tested positive for COVID-19.
Royal Mail said the office had reopened on Friday, following a deep clean, and the majority of staff were now back in the building, but disruption is continuing.
A spokesman for the company said: “An intense, enhanced clean of the building was carried out, and the office reopened on Friday.
“The majority of our colleagues are now back in the office and we are focusing on providing a normal service to the local community.”
Mail had been diverted to a nearby facility during the closure.
Royal Mail said that ‘ongoing resourcing issues’ meant deliveries in the S70, S71, S72 and S75 would be attempted on Monday but may be limited again.
